Privacy

There are no accounts here, so there is no profile of you to build. What follows is the complete list of what gets stored, why, and for how long.

Last changed 20 October 2026.

Who is responsible

The site is run by Damian Chojna, a private individual in Poland, reachable at hello@waitforit.fun. That address is the whole support department.

What gets stored when you take a number

Taking a number writes one row in a database: a random identifier, your place in the line, the times you joined and were last seen, and the name you typed on the ticket if you typed one. The name is public by design, because it appears next to your result.

The same row holds a fingerprint of your request: your IP address and browser string are put through a one-way hash with a server secret, and only the result of that hash is kept. It cannot be turned back into an address. It exists so that one person cannot quietly hold twenty places in the same line.

When you go through the door, the ending you get is written down as a public page with its own address. That page carries your number, the name on your ticket if any, how long you waited and what happened. Anybody who has the link can read it.

The cookie

One cookie, named ww_pid, holds the identifier of your place in the line and is signed so it cannot be forged. It is strictly necessary: without it the server cannot tell which place in the queue is yours, and a refresh would lose it. It is not used for advertising and it is not shared. Details of it and of the browser storage are on the cookies page.

How long it is kept

Places that expired or were given up are deleted thirty days after they were last seen. Votes cast in events by people who are no longer in the line go after two days. Server job history goes after seven days. Result pages and Hall of Fame entries are kept, since removing them would silently rewrite the public record, but you can ask for yours to go and it will go.

Who else sees anything

The pages are served by Vercel, the queue runs on a server at MyDevil in Poland, and Google serves the advertising. Those three see the usual things a web request carries, including your IP address, because that is how a request arrives. Nothing is sold, and nothing is handed to anybody else.

Advertising is personalised only if you agree to it in the consent dialog shown by Google’s certified consent tool. If you refuse, the advertising script is not even loaded. You can change your mind at any time from the privacy link in the footer of the consent tool.

What you can ask for

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted, and you can object to it being processed at all. Write to hello@waitforit.fun and include the address of your result page or your number, because without one of those there is no way to find you in a database that holds no names.

You also have the right to complain to the Polish data protection authority, the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under thirteen and asks for nothing that would identify one. If a child has typed something identifying onto a ticket, write in and it will be removed.
